Devised by Dame Felicity Lott and François Le Roux, two great exponents of the mélodie, the Wigmore French Song Exchange offers gifted singers a year of coaching from their mentors and guest teachers, culminating in three showcase performances.
The second lunchtime concert in the series continues our inquest into Bizet and Ravel, featuring unknown gems. The scheme, which now includes both singers and pianists, aims to explore every layer of French song – from the enchanting voice to the mystifying accompaniment. The concert includes solo mélodies, duets and even ensemble works.
Bethan looks forward to making her Wigmore Hall debut in this lunchtime concert (1pm).
